In view of European Union's WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), Japan's NEDO (New Energy & Industrial Technology Development Organization) and USA's NEMI (National Electronics Manufacturing Initiative), A-DATA raised the plan of restricting electrical and electronic products against pollution. In addition to paying attention to customer's demands, A-DATA perceives that air pollution, soil pollution, and groundwater pollution, caused by hazardous substances, will endanger our environment.

European Union has announced the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS). Under the directive on the RoHS, any new electrical and electronic equipment must not contain certain hazardous substances, i.e., lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), which has been the global environmental requirements as well as the basic technology threshold in IT industry.
